Legacy Quartet

Legacy is a male southern gospel quartet ministry based in Eastern, NC. Clyde Sorrell of Durham, NC and Walter Bass of Garner, NC, who have ministered together since 1973, formed Legacy Ministries Inc. in 1990. Singing in excess of 100 times per year, and traveling 25-30 thousand miles per year, Legacy has ministered to hundreds of thousands in audiences of various sizes in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina. A customized coach adds a measure of comfort during the long hours on the road. Legacy was formed for the sole purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song and testimony. We have been blessed to witness hundreds of souls won into the Kingdom of God as a result of our ministry. Although church worship services are predominate in our schedule, concerts, homecomings, revivals and other functions are also vitally important. Our program consists of a mixture of the old favorites, and some new songs, sung by male four-part harmony, and played by Legacy musicians.

Legacy consists of six members:

James Sauls of Goldsboro, NC (tenor), James Kirby of Kenly, NC (lead), Mike Aycock of Nahunta, NC (baritone), Gary Hayes of Wilson, NC (bass),  Gene Dawson of Pikeville, NC (dobro, steel guitar, harmonica). Rounding out group is Dale Kirby of Kenly, NC (Sound technican and bus driver).

Our lovely wives travel with us when family responsibilities allow, and pray for us whenever we must travel without them. Their faithful support has been a tremendous blessing. We of Legacy, look forward to being in your area, and invite everyone to bring a friend and let’s have a great time together.
