Allow me to introduce you to one of Southern Gospel’s premiere up-and-coming quartet’s, the Brothers Redeemed of Hickory, NC. No strangers to Southern Gospel, they have been singing as a cohesive unit for over 9 strong years. They have traveled all over the East Coast as well as some of the Central states of the US. In 2010 Brothers Redeemed Quartet was honored with a number of accolades. Those accolades include receiving a top 5 Nomination as “New Excelling Artist’s of the Year” for the SGM Fan Awards. In late 2009 they charted their first National radio single at #45 in the SGM World Tour Charts “Testimony” and in 2010 their second radio single “Hand of the Lord” went all the way to #15, where it set for eight consecutive months! 2011 is at pace to be the most successful year-to-date for this tremendous quartet as they are quickly becoming a household name on the East Coast and numerous churches have already asked them to be a part of their Worship services.
Rusty Townsend started this ministry nearly 10 years ago with his brother Keith Hendrix at his side. They soon added their cousin Cameron Woods to the mix and began their ministry as a trio willing to go wherever God would open the doors. In September of 2004, they added what would soon make this quartet complete; Doyle Hopper singing the bass notes. Traveling together for over 9 years, God eventually called Rusty to come off the “Gospel Road” in July of 2010 so that he could be a stronger vessel within his home church as the Minister of Music. The group would soon begin their journey to try and replace Rusty‘s vocals. In December of 2010, after much prayer and consideration, they decided to hire Shellem Cline, a 22 year old soloist of six years from Troutman, NC. Shellem would soon take the reigns singing the lead vocals and Cameron would move to the tenor position. With very few personnel changes, today’s members consist of Rusty Townsend/ Manager, Cameron Woods/ Tenor, Shellem Cline/ Lead, Keith Hendrix/ Baritone, and Doyle Hopper/ Bass. They share one common goal; “to see other’s come to know Christ, and encourage those who may be struggling in their Christian faith.” They welcome any opportunity that God places before them to share the talent’s that He has given each of them
