Often in the formation of a new gospel group the most difficult decision is finding a name that is not already being used and one that states the mission and beliefs of the members. In the Epistle of Paul, writing to the Hebrews, in Chapter 6, verse 19, he explains that, “hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.”
With this verse as their standard the Anchored Quartet of Lebanon, TN came into being. After many auditions, discussions, practices, and much prayer Matthew Griggs, Vic Christman, Jimmy Irvin, and Jason Dawson stepped out in 2023 to present the gospel through the ministry of singing. Although from different backgrounds and even locales these four men blended together to sing and serve as led by their Lord. In a short time they became known and blessed, and were blessed in return, by several churches and their congregations.
But in the spring of ’24 Jason, the tenor, felt he must step away to devote more time to his job and family. Fortunately Matthew had someone in mind to call that might could fill-in and had helped in the forming of the group. Jason graciously offered to stay until the “new, old guy” could step into his slot and we truly appreciate his doing so and wish him the best in any endeavor he may choose.
Matthew Griggs/lead, Vic Christman/baritone, Jimmy Irvin/bass, & Bobby Vaughn/tenor, collectively bring over 150 years of singing to this new/old group!
