The McNeills have ten children and two parents (yes, you read that right… 12 in all!), so you can imagine the musical possibilities. Quartets, choir, solos, trios, fiddle, piano...you get the idea. With one foot planted firmly in Southern Gospel and the Hymnbook, and the other foot fidgeting to try bluegrass and other creative genres, the McNeills bring a twist to the "good ol` days" music. The McNeills sing southern gospel, bluegrass gospel, and country gospel - anything from the old time hymns to new southern gospel greats, from acoustic sets (with the mandolin, fiddle, guitar, bass, and piano) to tracks to a Capella songs to even throwing in a bit of contemporary music – effectively bridging the gap between young and old. There’s something for everyone! And… YES… the younger children, affectionately known as the “cutest backup singers in Texas” (ranging in age from 18 down to 3) sing with the main quartet (about 1/3 of a concert). The McNeills` hope is to bring the body of Christ together - to forget about our ages, and denominations, and to worship the Lord in song and simply trust that when God meets with us, He will begin a renewal process. Their prayer is for the body of Christ to unite.
The McNeills have been ministering through music since late 2014. The Lord has opened up some wonderful doors along the way. The McNeills are honored and blessed to have been selected for "Honorable Mention" in the 2014 Singing News National Southern Gospel competition, been invited to sing at the 2015 National Quartet Convention and Rockport Gospel Music Festival, have a song from their most recent project released to national radio, been LIVE on the ABC News Morning Show out of Corpus Christi, and to have shared the stage with Gaither Homecoming Artists The Nelons and Larry Ford. The McNeills latest project, “Not Ashamed”, was recently released and was produced by Nashville Southern Gospel Icon Les Butler, and Grammy award winner, Brad Davis.
