Squire Parsons, a native of West Virginia, was introduced to gospel music by his parents who taught him the shaped note style. He has served in many capacities and in 1975 became the baritone for the Kingsmen Quartet. In 1979 Squire went into the solo ministry which continues today. Besides writing over 1800 songs, he has received numerous awards and is best known as the writer of the classic, "Sweet Beulah Land."
